Halloween morning at Houghton Hall Park brought something a little out of the ordinary. The famous Ghostbusters Ecto-1 took pride of place in the park, complete with glowing lights, ghost-hunting gadgets and a team of Ghostbusters ready for action! Our Ghostbusters Halloween event turned the park into a mini ghost-hunting headquarters, packed with hands-on activities, interactive tech and free family fun.

The Ectomobile Draws a Crowd
The Ecto-1 instantly grabbed attention as families gathered around to take a closer look at every gadget, meter and flashing light. Our team of Ghostbusters were on hand to answer questions, pose for photos and train new recruits in the art of ghost-catching.
Mounted in the back window of the vehicle was our Virtual Ghostbuster Training Simulator, a video game experience that brought the fun to life. Children could spot and blast virtual ghosts on screen to earn their place as official Ghostbuster trainees. The interactive element added something extra to the setup and proved popular throughout the morning.
Alongside the Ecto-1, the Ghostbusters team led mini missions around Houghton Hall Park. Children were encouraged to help detect unusual activity, investigate clues and report back to the team. The mix of playful storytelling and light exercise made it a great way for families to explore the park while staying involved in the action.
Every family also had the chance to take home a free printed photo with the Ecto-1 and team. It was a simple touch that made the experience feel personal and gave everyone a keepsake to remember the day.

A Family-Friendly Halloween Morning
Houghton Hall Park was an ideal setting for this kind of event. It offered space for children to explore, areas for families to relax, and a welcoming environment that made the morning feel lively but not overwhelming. The event proved that Halloween fun doesn’t have to wait until dark to capture people’s imagination!
Parents reminisced about the original Ghostbusters films while children immersed themselves in the ghost-catching. The combination of live characters, hands-on activities and the virtual training meant there was always something happening, and no one left disappointed.
Free and Accessible Fun for All
Everything at the Ghostbusters event was free to enjoy. From the training game and photo opportunities to the park missions and meet-and-greets, families could take part without spending a penny. This created a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere where everyone felt welcome.
The focus on interaction rather than queue-based attractions helped to keep things flowing and ensured visitors stayed engaged. The event also encouraged people to spend more time exploring the park and its surroundings, helping strengthen the sense of community connection.
Turning Ideas into Experiences
Our Ghostbusters event at Houghton Hall Park showed how the right mix of creative design and interactivity can turn a simple idea into a full experience. The combination of a recognisable theme, digital engagement and live performance proved that even a short daytime event can have real impact.
Events like this remind us that what makes an experience memorable isn’t just the visuals or props, but the way it brings people together.
