This summer, Bowerbirdy delivered a freshers event activation for Domino’s Pizza at the University of Hertfordshire. Designed to connect Domino’s with new and returning students on campus, the activation focused on visibility, interaction and student engagement during a key moment in the academic calendar.

1. Domino’s on Campus During Peak Student Footfall
The Domino’s activation took place during the summer freshers period, when student presence across campus is high and attention is focused on discovering services, brands and social opportunities. Positioning Domino’s within this environment ensured consistent exposure throughout the day, with students encountering the brand as part of their natural movement around the university.

2. Clear Brand Presence for Domino’s
The event space was designed to clearly represent Domino’s, with strong visual branding and a structured layout that supported easy engagement. This allowed students to quickly identify Domino’s on site and understand what was being offered, without interrupting the flow of the wider freshers activity.

3. Student Interaction Through Vouchers and Domino’s Photo Prints
Student interaction at the event centred around Domino’s £1 vouchers and free pizza giveaways, giving attendees a clear incentive to engage while driving future visits and purchases. The vouchers were distributed directly to students on campus, making the Domino’s offer relevant beyond the event itself.
Alongside the vouchers, students were invited to pose with Domino’s themed photo props. Photos were printed instantly on site and featured a Domino’s branded graphic frame, creating a physical takeaway that linked the experience directly to the brand. These printed photos provided a tangible reminder of Domino’s during the freshers period and allowed students to leave with a branded keepsake from their time on campus.

4. Domino’s as Part of the Freshers Experience
For many attendees, this Domino’s event formed part of their first structured activity on campus during the summer period. Being present at this stage allowed Domino’s to establish familiarity early in the student journey, aligning the brand with the start of university life and shared campus experiences.

5. Delivered by Bowerbirdy
The event was planned and delivered by Bowerbirdy, managing design, on-site logistics, staffing and coordination to ensure smooth delivery throughout the day. Our role was to support Domino’s in reaching students through a physical presence that fitted naturally within the University of Hertfordshire freshers environment.
This freshers event demonstrates how targeted, on-campus activations can support brand visibility and student engagement when timed and delivered effectively. For brands looking to connect with student audiences during key seasonal moments, freshers events continue to offer a structured and measurable opportunity to do so.
